Batemans Bay, Moruya, Narooma,  Tilba - essential Eurobodalla

The Clyde River is one of Australia's most beautiful with a backdrop of green hills, national parks and state forest. It runs through the famous resort town of Batemans Bay with its endless attractions from great food (especially oysters), accommodation from luxury to camping. From beaches to the famous foreshore walk, to world class fishing, to diving and snorkelling in Batemans Marine Park to family attractions like Birdland Animal Park BB is a true favourite.

Nearby Moruya, Broulee, Tuross Head, and Narooma allow you to choose your own special spot. Bodalla is famous for cheese and these days is a quaint reminder of days past in the country. The National Trust village of Tilba is a loved delight set in green hills, today full of boutiques and galleries. Fishing charters are easily organised and a trip to Montague Island with its penguins, seals and sea lions will be remembered forever.

Murramarang National Park is a coastal favourite where you can stay at Pretty Beach, Pebbly Beach or Depot Beach. Mogo Zoo keeps adding new and amazing animals to its collection, so it attracts more and more humans.

Montague Island

Meet a seal, conquer a lighthouse and spot a whale or two

Take a tour to Montague Island and snorkel with hundreds of seals, climb the lighthouse, watch the nightly penguin parade and keep an eye out for the migrating whales during spring.

As well as the obvious natural beauty of Montague Island, it also holds historic and cultural significance for local Aboriginal people over many years.

Arguably the jewel in Eurobodalla's crown, Montague Island is a sanctuary for wildlife, home to NSW's largest colony of Australian and New Zealand fur seals and one of the largest little penguin breeding sites in Australia.

Experience Montague Island's breathtaking natural beauty, immerse yourself in the Island's natural heritage, take a day trip on an exhilarating boat trip out to the island or jump in the water and snorkel or dive for an up-close and personal encounter with the curious resident seals.

Surf Lessons

The perfect place to ride your first wave

Hang-five with the experts in a surfing lesson on one of Eurobodalla’s many unspoilt beaches. With two excellent surf schools at your fingertips, there’s no excuse for not hitting the surf and riding your first wave into shore.

Choose from Surf the Bay Surf School or Broulee Surf School. The choice is yours, from the beach to the instructor.

Popular surfing beaches are located at Broulee, North Head at Moruya and McKenzies Beach south of Batemans Bay. There are protected beaches with gentle waves for the kids and serious breaks for the experienced surfers.

Many South Coast beaches are surrounded by native forests so you may find yourself sharing the beach with a kangaroo!
