
The 140km Grand Pacific Drive starts in the Royal National Park, located just outside of Sydney, about an hour's drive from both Sydney's CBD and Wollongong. Experience the 15,000 hectare expanse of bush, beaches and waterfalls at one of the world's oldest national parks. Highlights in the park include; Audley, Wattamolla, Garie Beach, The Coast Track, Governor Game Lookout and Bonnie Vale Campground. Tip: Follow the Grand Pacific Drive directional signage from Farnell Avenue, at the start of the National Park, and it will direct you along the entire drive passing through Wollongong, Shellharbour, Kiama en route to the Shoalhaven region.

Thunder down under
The Blowhole is what's given Kiama a special place in the heart of travellers. With the right sea conditions it can shoot water up to 25 metres in the air or about as high as a five level building. In addition to the Blowhole and its surrounds, there's the maritime atmosphere of the harbour and lighthouse and massive views along the coast including Bombo and its Cathedral Rocks. While 600,000 people visit the Blowhole each year, there's a second 'Little Blowhole' that's also spectacular in Tingira Crescent a few moments south.
Walking Wonderland - the Kiama Coast
The spectacular Kiama Coast Walk gives you a whole new take on the area, including breathtaking cliffs and coastline, boulder beaches, rolling hills, sea caves and rock platforms. It is broken into three sections, from Minnamurra to Blowhole Point (3 hours), Blowhole Point to Kiama Heights (90 minutes) and from there to Werri Beach (90 mins) with an additional stretch down to Gerringong, Gerroa and Seven Mile Beach (45 mins). There are markers every kilometre explaining historical and geological features. Detailed information is available from Kiama Visitor Centre and website.

Seven Mile Beach - 11.2k beach just doesn't sound quite as romantic!
Explore the magnificent Kiama coastline and discover Minnamurra, Bombo, Kiama, Gerringong, Gerroa and Seven Mile Beach.
Minnamurra is a water lovers wonderland! From swimming, surfing, snorkelling, canoeing and stand-up paddle boarding it's the ideal location for a fun and active day out.
Werri Beach is one of the best surfing beaches on the South Coast. It features an ocean pool on the rocks for those who like to enjoy a dip or even a few laps.
Seven Mile beach stretches from Gerroa to Shoalhaven Heads near Nowra with many endless personalities to discover.
It also has a little river/lake. Head to Beach Road picnic area with the family for a barbecue by the sea. In 1933 Seven Mile Beach was used by Sir Charles Kingsford Smith as the runway for the first commercial flight to NZ, the one where his partner Patrick Taylor six times climbed out along the wing to keep the plane flying! Seven Mile Beach National Park offers fishing, swimming, picnicking and walking options for everyone.
'Lord of the Rings' forest and Waterfalls - Minnamurra Rainforest
A walk or cycle through this spectacular natural world shows you the rainforest that once followed our coast, along with crashing waterfalls and crystal clear streams. The Minnamurra Rainforest elevated walkways make for easy movement as your senses awaken with the myriad birds. You're likely to spot superb lyrebirds, water dragons or swamp wallabies. There's a relaxing riverside picnic area with barbecues provided. The multi award-winning Minnamurra Rainforest Centre is full of information.
A winery located on the cusp of a hillside overlooking beautiful coastal Gerringong, with views west to the escarpment, Crooked River makes its wines where the mountains meet the sea. One of the South Coast's most innovative winemakers, known for unique red and white wines including those that reflect the local terroir and interesting blends.
There's also now a popular craft beer. The Venue Restaurant showcases the best local produce, meats and seafoods along with wine. Willowvale Estate House offers accommodation for up to four couples complete with a full size kitchen and dining room and magnificent verandah with views of the green hills and higher peaks to the west.
