Royal National Park to Wollongong - 70km/80minutes
Depart Sydney and travel along Grand Pacific Drive to Wollongong via Royal National Park (world’s second oldest). Stop at Otford for a delicious home-made apple pie, continue to Bald Hill lookout offering magnificent views over the South Pacific Ocean then stop off at the spectacular over-the-ocean 665 metre Sea Cliff Bridge. Stop at Chedo's Cafe/Restaurant or Austinmer for a home-made Gelato.
Continue along Grand Pacific Drive to Wollongong and visit the harbour and Flagstaff Hill before relaxing by the water at The Illawarra Brewery for beer tasting, home to 10 locally brewed beers. Enjoy fresh local seafood at one of Wollongong great restaurants along the foreshore or visit Wollongong’s “eat street” for a variety of cuisines.
Wollongong to Shellharbour - 29km/28minutes
Next stop is at Shellharbour Village and harbour precinct. The village boasts many award winning restaurants and alfresco cafes, many with outstanding views of the harbour. Alternatively grab some fish and chips and enjoy the serenity of the harbour. Nearby are other great dining experiences including club’s/ pubs or alternatively visit Ravensthorpe Guesthouse & Restaurant where you can experience classic European cuisine or their famous high tea.
Shellharbour to Kiama - 14km/10minutes
Enjoy a coffee or relax by taking in magnificent water views while enjoying quality food from one of the many cafes and restaurants in the Kiama Region or simply enjoy a stroll while enjoying a ice cream from the three Ice Creameries in the area. Pop into Heart & Sol Organics that specialises in organic food and natural products.
Continue down to Gerringong and Gerroa just south of Kiama and enjoy wine tasting from Crooked River Winery or Roselea Winery (by appointments only) or enjoy a meal, afternoon tea or a picnic of fish and chips on the beach.
Kiama to Shoalhaven - 40km/35minutes
Travel further south and visit one of the South Coast region’s fine wineries, Coolangatta Estate, showcasing the finest regional produce matched with Coolangatta Estate’s award-winning boutique wines to delight the most discerning wine connoisseur. For the food lovers, treat your tastebuds on the South Coast Harvest Trail, where you can sample the best local produce direct from the farmer’s gate with growers who are only too happy to chat to you about their products.
Beyond to the Southern Highlands
With over 60 vineyards and 16 cellar doors, the Southern Highlands is the perfect place to experience some amazing cool climate wines. Treat your senses and match your new favourite wine, a unique eating out encounter with local produce and fantastic settings, anything from a woolshed to a French Provincial styled cellar door.
Beyond to Batemans Bay
Sample the local Batemans Bay seafood and Clyde River Oysters at the Wray Street Oyster Bar, The Pearly Oyster Bar and Innes Boatshed or discover fresh seafood at cafes and restaurants alongside the town’s esplanade. Wander the esplanade to take in the views out to Tollgate Islands, the dolphins and pelicans and seaside shopping. Take a river boat cruise with fresh local fish and chips aboard the Merinda to fully appreciate the beauty and diversity of the Clyde River as it winds its way past oyster farms and through National Parks to the historic town of Nelligen.
Beyond to Canberra

Try delicious smoked products made onsite at the Poachers Pantry Smokehouse Cafe or dine at Grazing located in the historic Royal Hotel in Gundaroo. Tip – If you are travelling along Grand Pacific Drive to Batemans Bay or Canberra, a good option is to stay overnight at one of the destinations along the drive.
