Royal National Park to Wollongong - 70km/80minutes
Depart Sydney and travel along Grand Pacific Drive to Wollongong via Royal National Park (world’s second oldest). Stop at Bald Hill lookout and take in the magnificent view. Try your hand at hang gliding or paragliding (weather/ wind dependant) offering amazing scenery of Wollongong’s Northern Coastal Villages. Be adventurous and take in the sights on the back of a Harley Davidson whilst traversing the spectacular Sea Cliff Bridge, admiring the sites of the South Pacific Ocean. Experience a thrill by jumping out of a plane at 14,000ft with amazing views over Wollongong then head to Five Islands Brewery for beer tasting and casual lunch by the ocean.
Wollongong to Shellharbour - 29km/28minutes
Travel along Grand Pacific Drive to Shellharbour, enjoy scuba driving or snorkeling at Bushranger’s Bay, Bass Point or try a surf lesson at ‘The Farm’ located within Killalea State Park, a National Surfing Reserve. Take a scenic, microlight or helicopter flight over the region to see the amazing views or if you prefer to be at the controls, live your dream by learning to fly with NSW Air.
Shellharbour to Kiama - 14km/10minutes
Visit two of the biggest adventure attractions in NSW, the Illawarra Fly Treetop Walk and Jamberoo Action Park.
Take Terralong Street out of town towards the township of Jamberoo, take in the breathtaking rural views before arriving in Jamberoo. From here follow the signs to the Illawarra Fly. “The Fly” as it is affectionately known, provides a birds’ eye view from the escarpment, and the opportunity to commune with nature in the treetops.
Spend the afternoon at Jamberoo Action Park, the perfect place to wear you, or your children out through an overdose of adrenalin. With water rides, set into the beautiful hills around Jamberoo, makes for an unforgettable day of action.
Kiama to Shoalhaven - 40km/35minutes
Up next, the stunning Shoalhaven region where you can enjoy an action packed ‘Extreme’ cruise in the clear waters of Jervis Bay. Discover previously unreachable bays and inlets on this vessel- extreme whale and dolphin watching at its best! A visit to our three majestic waterfalls, Fitzroy, Carrington and Belmore, is a must - were you will find nature at its pristine best! Or take a walk above the trees at Australia’s best tree top walk on the edge of the escarpment at the Illawarra Fly Tree Top Walk, just outside Robertson.

Beyond to Canberra
Canberra offers plenty of adventure activities to get your adrenalin pumping! Rise early, rug up and take off in a hot air balloon and fly above Canberra passing over Parliament House and Lake Burley Griffin. You can also kayak and paddle the lake for a different perspective of Canberra. The Canberra Region & Visitors Centre can provide you with information on mountain biking, horse riding, abseiling, rock climbing, skydiving and many more outdoor activities available in Canberra and the region.
Tip – If you are travelling along Grand Pacific Drive to Batemans Bay or Canberra, a good option is to stay overnight at one of the destinations along the drive. There are plenty of accommodation options available from international hotel brands to quaint and unique B&B’s to backpacker accommodation - something to offer any traveler.
