Bass Point - Indigenous Cultural Walk

This self guided walk provides the visitor with details on the importance of the Aboriginal heritage of this site over 9 plaques.

Traditional occupation of Bass Point by Aboriginal people dated back over 17,000 years before present.  At this time Bass point was 14km inland because of lower sea levels.

Bass  Point is one of the oldest occupation sites along the entire Australian eastern seaboard. It was used as both a camping and meeting place as well as a place for collecting and sharing food.
