Located on the southern fringe of metropolitan Sydney, Royal National Park is the second oldest national park in the world.

Royal offers spectacular scenery from sub tropical rainforests, sandstone heathlands, to dramatic coastal cliffs and unspoilt ocean beaches. There is also a wide range of eucalypt forests, heath vegetation, freshwater and saltwater wetlands. Royal is home to many native animals such as mammals like wallabies, birds, Amphibians and reptiles and Invertebrates.

Royal is dominated by sandstone, the park's landscape is one of steep valleys, ridges and rocky outcrops. Its many streams are punctuated by waterfalls and pools.
