Driving south of Gerringong pull into the Kingsford Smith lookout, at the Northern end of Seven Mile Beach – the view is simply too stunning to drive past.
From this beach, pioneer aviator Kingsford Smith made his historic record breaking flight to New Zealand on January 11, 1933. The first commercial flight across the Tasman.
A plaque is on display near the outline of his aircraft, the “Southern Cross.”
