"New signage along Grand Pacific Drive!"

Posted by Elissa Caldwell on October 24, 2008 in Experiences along the Grand Pacific Drive

Did you always wonder where Grand Pacific Drive commences? Well the directional signs now tell all! Driving from Sydney, there is a large brown tourist sign advising the start of Grand Pacific Drive from the northern end; at Royal National Park. Following the route is easy now as the signs lead you all the way down the coast. Easy!

We have recently taken a trip along Grand Pacific Drive. Prior to leaving, we downloaded a map off the website which was really handy. From the start of the Royal National Park, we found it a breeze to find our way along this picturesque drive as there is plenty of signage! This is certainly one drive that you must experience and it is so close to Sydney.... We recommend an overnight stay in Wollongong as there is plenty to do.

We came up from Canberra the other day and at the spur of the moment decided to try and find the GPD. Unfortunately, we only found it be mistake as there are no signs from the southern approach indicating where to join the road to enter the GPD. We did find it and what a fabulous day it was too but perhaps some better signs for the southern approach would be useful too.

We came up from Canberra the other day looking for the entrance onto the Sea Cliff Bridge (not GPD) but there are no signs from the southern approach. We did eventually find it but only by accident. Some signs from the southern end of W'gong pointing the way to the entrance to the Sea Cliff bridge would be handy.

Grand Pacific Drive now has themed reassurance signage along the entire length of the drive. These signs will help you determine the distance of many destinations and key points along the drive... making your GRAND pacific drive much easier!
